Hannah (Charlotte Rampling) struggles to hold her life together after her husband goes to prison.
Her husband’s crime is not revealed, but it was something to do with children, and it has caused a rift between Hannah, her son and his family, and the wider society. When she attends her grandson’s birthday party with hopes of reconciliation, her son coldly turns her away.
