This screening will be introduced by Ciaran Creagh, screenwriter of The Lightkeeper, who will also take part in a post-screening discussion including one of the film's producers Larry Bass and cast member Keith McErlean.

Ireland, 1924. Seamus Og Mcgrinna (Dominic Cooper) is a lighthouse keeper whose elaborate rituals keep him at a distance from the outside world as he awaits the fabled Each-Uisce to take him. His carefully constructed prison is blown open by three people who change the course of his life: the American war widow (Sarah Gadon) whose quest for closure ignites something in him; the housekeeper (Sarah Bolger) who fiercely protects him ; and the hard-line priest, (Aidan Quinn) who starts a battle of wills with a man who has nothing to lose.

With stunning visuals perfectly showcasing the breathtaking landscapes of Ireland’s Atlantic coast, (with filming locations across Donegal including Culdaff and Malin Head), this Irish-Canadian co-production is a hauntingly atmospheric and intensely powerful meditation on love, loss and the enduring power of community. Revolving around a beautifully realised central performance from Dominic Cooper as Seamus, The Lightkeeper is a film which will stay with audiences long after the credits have finished.
