Skintown (with JAMIE-LEE O'DONNELL)Skintown (with JAMIE-LEE O'DONNELL)

It is the summer of 1994 and best friends Vinny (Jack Rowan) and Jonty (Chris Walley) are desperate to escape their small-town life in conflict torn Enniskillen (Skintown), Northern Ireland.

The screening will be introduced by cast member Jamie-Lee O'Donell who will also take part in a post-screening discussion.

Just as a ceasefire is announced heralding a brighter future, Vinny and Jonty successfully execute a dangerous plan destined to spring them from Skintown before fate intervenes…

Adapted by Ciarán McMenamin from his novel of the same name, the latest film from director Kieron J. Walsh, (which took home the top prize at this year’s Edinburgh International Film Festival), is an intoxicating blend of dark humour, razor-sharp wit and intense pathos with a knockout 90s rave-inflected soundtrack featuring Happy Mondays, Elastica and The Prodigy.

With whole-hearted and riotously-funny performances from its outstanding supporting cast headlined by Derry native Jamie-Lee O’Donnell, with Hope Ikpoku Jr., Michael Smiley, Roisin Gallagher, Martin McCann and Tara Lynne O’Neil, Skintown is one of the year’s most wildly entertaining and utterly electrifying films. One hell of a trip!
