Ethan Hollan, an up-and-coming indie/alternative musician, is a familiar name on DIY lineups across NI and is looking forward to making his Derry full band debut at Nerve Centre.

The 21 year old musician is recognized for his moving, stripped-down performances, often featuring just him and his guitar and achieved his first radio play with BBC Introducing and was prominently featured in issue 8 of Dig With It Magazine. He also appeared in the short documentary Northern Chirish, which explores the experiences of Asian artists growing up in Ireland.

In addition to composing his own music, Ethan has created soundtracks for documentaries and other creative projects. This year, he is planning to release several singles, including his highly anticipated studio debut Forest.

Ethan's main goal is to promote diversity in the music industry and have a positive impact on the music scene.

Polar Bolero is a new Alt Folk songwriting duo consisting of multi-instrumentalists Cahir McLaughlin and Pearse Donaghy.

Starting in early 2022 the band embarked on an ambitious plan of self-recording their debut album ‘A Conversation’. ‘A Conversation,’ conceptually deals with issues of disillusionment and melancholy whilst living in post-pandemic, post-Troubles NI.

The band tethers their original songs together with snippets of candid interviews with members of the NI public, varying in age, gender, race and public influence to provide a level of necessary reality and diversity in perspective while dealing with this subject matter.

Their debut single 'Passerby' characterises the feeling of disenfranchisement and self-pity involved in the idea of missing a chance at something special, be that romantic, professional or otherwise and the simultaneous toil of accountability in these situations.
