Writer-director Dean Conway will be in conversation after the screening.

Conversations in Bed is a chamber-piece film exploring two relationships experienced by the same young man, years apart. From a summer day in his family home before his final year of school, to post-one-night-stand pillow talk in Belfast after St Patrick’s Day, the film offers an intimate, observational look at young people, relationships, and the often insignificant moments through which we communicate.

Meet Dean Conway

Dean Conway is an Irish writer/director from County Armagh, Northern Ireland. Influenced by independent and realist cinema, Dean has a particular interest in telling authentic, observational and naturalistic stories that resonate with audiences. He is an alumni of the BFI Film Academy Story Development initiative delivered by Nerve Centre.

Dean’s work has been programmed at BIFA, BAFTA and Academy Award affiliated festivals and he was selected for BBC Voices 2025, after his pilot script made it into the top 1% of submissions to BBC Writers Open Call. Conversations in Bed — his improvised, debut feature film — premiered at Galway Film Fleadh in July 2026 and has since reached over one million people across social media.
