Ones To Watch Presents Spike Lee Retrospective Double Bill

Ones to Watch offers young people the training and skills they need to curate online and live event content for themselves as film lovers and filmmakers.

During Reel Lives our Ones to Watch group host a Spike Lee Retrospective Double Bill over two evenings showing Do the Right Thing and BlacKkKlansman.

BlacKkKlansman
Ron Stallworth, the first African-American detective on the Colorado Springs Police Department, resolves to make a name for himself and a difference in his community. He bravely sets out on a dangerous mission: infiltrate and expose the Ku Klux Klan.

Winner of Oscar® for Best Adapted Screenplay

BlacKkKlansman is a nuanced story of race in America, but Lee doesn’t take any chances with vagueness or ellipses, nor should he. As much as BlacKkKlansman plays with the mechanics of blaxploitation fantasy, it doesn’t leave one with any question about what’s real.” — Emily Yoshida, Vulture.

2018. USA/China. Director: Spike Lee. Cast: John David Washington, Adam Driver, Laura Harrier. Duration: 2hrs 15mins. Cert: 15
